Month,Orders,Revenue
January,40,1200
February,55,1650
March,48,1536Orders and Revenue can each be plotted over Month, while a scatter plot can compare the two numeric columns. Their different units make a shared stacked total meaningless. A gallery recommendation is a starting point, not permission to combine them.
When to choose this chart
Use Chart Studio when you have a table but have not decided how to communicate it. The gallery checks whether columns can support each chart; it does not know your question, judge the data's quality or choose a statistically valid conclusion.
Prepare and map your fields
Keep one observation per row and give each field a unique heading. Numeric columns support comparisons and distributions; ISO-date fields support time axes and task ranges. Keep units in headings instead of mixing currency symbols into values.
Import the table and inspect the detected field types. Correct numbers stored as text before relying on a recommendation.
Select labels and numeric series, then compare the suggested views. A suitable data structure can still produce a misleading chart if categories or units are unrelated.
Customize the charts you want to keep. Export an individual result or a ZIP collection after reviewing each mapping.
Read the result correctly
Choose the view that answers a specific question: columns for monthly order counts, a line for an ordered trend, or scatter for the relationship between orders and revenue. Check the selected fields in every exported gallery item.
A mistake to avoid
A numeric identifier, such as an invoice number, is not automatically a meaningful measure. Remove it from value mappings. Do not assume the gallery establishes a cause for a pattern.
Export and keep your data private
Review the title, units, labels and any omitted-row warnings at the final export size. PNG is a raster image, SVG retains vector chart elements, and PDF embeds a raster image. Save the original table if you may need to revise the mapping.
Data stays in browser memory; no upload, external chart service or AI model. CSV, TSV, semicolon/pipe text, JSON and JSON Lines: 2 MB, 10,000 rows, 24 columns. Charts allow up to eight series; categorical charts 60 groups, lines/scatter/candlesticks 500 rows, pie/donut/waffle 12 categories, radar 3–12 dimensions. Blank/invalid mapped values are omitted and counted. Numeric values use a decimal point; remove currency symbols and grouping separators. Percent strings are treated as displayed numeric values (25% becomes 25). Dates use ISO format. Recommendations check data structure, not meaning or causation. PNG up to 16 MP; SVG stays vector; PDF embeds a high-resolution chart image. Review mappings, ordering, aggregation and labels before sharing.
