What are the limits of Subtitle Editor?
Up to 2 MB / 1 million input characters and 2,000 cues. Each cue supports 2,000 characters and timestamps below 100 hours. Imported styling, regions and positioning settings are not retained. Video is local, up to 500 MB; codecs depend on your browser. Exports are subtitle files, not burned-in video. Reading-speed checks are guidelines. Undo retains 20 edit groups; consecutive changes to one field are grouped until a one-second pause. Cues are shown in pages of 50, with all 2,000 reachable. The selected cue stays visible if it stops matching a filter while editing. Video preview collapses on mobile when focusing the caption. Cursor splits estimate timing from text length; review the result. Download your work before leaving.
