How to use JPG to PNG

Convert JPG or JPEG pictures into PNG files. PNG stores the decoded pixels without additional lossy compression, which is useful for further edits and tools requiring PNG.

  1. Choose JPG or JPEG files.
  2. Optionally set a maximum width; leave it blank to keep the original dimensions.
  3. Convert, review the dimensions, and download PNG files individually or in a ZIP.

A practical example

Convert a JPG screenshot into PNG before adding text in an editor, avoiding another JPEG encoding step on conversion.

Before you share the result

  • PNG cannot restore detail already lost in the source JPG.
  • The result is usually larger than a photo saved as JPEG.
  • Converting to PNG does not automatically remove a background or make a photo transparent.

Useful things to know

What formats and sizes are supported?

Up to 30 images, 30 MB per file, 80 MB combined, and 40 megapixels per input image. Dedicated format converters accept only their named source format. Exported images are limited to 16 megapixels. Total output is limited to 100 MB. Smaller batches work better on phones.

What should I expect from this tool?

JPG/JPEG inputs only. Camera metadata and colour profiles are not copied; browser colour management controls rendered appearance.

Will the exported image look exactly like the original?

PNG retains the decoded pixels without extra lossy compression; JPEG and WebP use the chosen quality. Metadata and colour profiles are not copied. Colour rendering can vary by browser. Animated images become a browser-decoded still frame. Keep your originals and inspect the downloaded output.
