Image to Word recognizes English text locally. A sharp, upright scan with dark text on a light background works best. The working image is limited to four megapixels to keep memory manageable. Text-based PDFs can use PDF to Word directly without OCR. Scanned PDFs need OCR; export a page to an image first.
Table structure matters as much as the words
Image to Word looks for ruled grids and consistent column alignment. Review the editable cell preview before generating DOCX. When automatic detection misses a table, specify increasing row and column boundaries as percentages of the image. For example, columns 10, 50, 90 divide the middle eighty percent into two cells. Include boundaries around the actual table, not surrounding headings.
PDF to Word uses extracted text positions to infer aligned rows and columns. Both converters create native Word table cells rather than a screenshot of the table. Merged cells, nested tables, multiple separate tables on a page, unusual reading order, and complex layouts can need manual repair. Automatic reconstruction is best effort, not a guarantee.
Review numbers and correct the document
OCR can confuse 0 and O, 1 and l, punctuation, and decimal points. Check totals, dates, names, and every important cell against the source. In Image to Word you can edit cells, add rows or columns, and correct surrounding text before exporting. You may include the original image as a visual reference; editable text and table cells remain separate.
Open the downloaded DOCX in Word or another compatible editor. Check cell order, paragraph order, and page breaks. Retain the original document, particularly for financial or official records. Files and recognized text stay on your device; runtime and language assets are downloaded from this site when needed.
