Turn nonnegative category values into a labeled part-to-whole chart.

Expense,Amount

Transport,20The total is 100, so the slices are 50%, 30% and 20%. These percentages describe the supplied expenses only; an omitted expense changes the denominator and the apparent shares.
When to choose this chart
A pie chart shows a small number of mutually exclusive parts of one positive whole. It suits a simple allocation, not a time trend or a long ranked list.
Prepare and map your fields
Choose a category column and nonnegative values representing one shared denominator. Combine tiny categories into a meaningful Other group in the input when appropriate. This tool allows up to 12 categories.
Map categories and one value series, then check that the categories do not overlap.
Confirm the positive total and whether rounding makes displayed percentages add to exactly 100.
Use clear labels and review the chart at the intended export size.
Read the result correctly
Compare large, distinct shares rather than attempting fine differences between similar angles. Include units and a reporting period in the title or surrounding explanation.
A mistake to avoid
Do not include a Total row as another slice or mix overlapping groups. A bar chart is clearer when several categories have similar values or labels are long.
Export and keep your data private
Review the title, units, labels and any omitted-row warnings at the final export size. PNG is a raster image, SVG retains vector chart elements, and PDF embeds a raster image. Save the original table if you may need to revise the mapping.
Data stays in browser memory; no upload, external chart service or AI model. CSV, TSV, semicolon/pipe text, JSON and JSON Lines: 2 MB, 10,000 rows, 24 columns. Charts allow up to eight series; categorical charts 60 groups, lines/scatter/candlesticks 500 rows, pie/donut/waffle 12 categories, radar 3–12 dimensions. Blank/invalid mapped values are omitted and counted. Numeric values use a decimal point; remove currency symbols and grouping separators. Percent strings are treated as displayed numeric values (25% becomes 25). Dates use ISO format. Recommendations check data structure, not meaning or causation. PNG up to 16 MP; SVG stays vector; PDF embeds a high-resolution chart image. Review mappings, ordering, aggregation and labels before sharing.
