How to use Typing Speed Test
- Choose English or Hindi and a test: 1, 2 or 5 minutes for practice, or an exam mode such as SSC CHSL/CGL typing (10 minutes) or CGL data entry (15 minutes). For Hindi, switch your device to a Hindi keyboard (Inscript or Remington).
- Start typing the passage in the box. The timer starts with your first key; the passage shows correct, wrong and next characters as you go. Copy and paste are turned off; backspace is allowed.
- When the timer ends or you select Finish, see your net and gross speed, accuracy, key depressions per hour and the words you got wrong. Your last ten results stay on this device so you can track progress.
What are the limits of Typing Speed Test?
Speeds use the common 5-characters-per-word standard; net speed counts correctly typed words only. Exams count errors in their own ways (full and half mistakes, ignored punctuation), and qualifying speeds change between notifications, so treat the pass check as a guide. Passages are original practice text. Results are kept only in this browser.
