How to use FD & RD Calculator
- Choose fixed deposit or recurring deposit and enter the amount (or monthly instalment) and the bank's interest rate.
- Set the tenure in years and months. For an FD choose whether interest is reinvested (and how often it compounds) or paid out monthly or quarterly; turn on the senior citizen rate if it applies.
- Read the maturity value and total interest, see the balance year by year, check whether TDS is likely, and copy the summary.
What are the limits of FD & RD Calculator?
Uses the standard Indian bank methods: quarterly compounding for cumulative FDs and RDs, and discounted monthly payouts. Banks may round differently or use simple interest for short tenures, so results can differ by a few rupees. The senior citizen rate adds 0.5%, which varies by bank. TDS is a first-year estimate for one bank. Not financial advice.
