How to use Roman Numeral Converter
- Type a number (such as 2026) or a Roman numeral (such as MMXXVI): the tool works out which way to convert.
- For numbers above 3,999, turn on overlines; for a date, switch to Date to Roman and pick the order and separator.
- Read the result with each step explained, see a warning if a numeral is not in standard form (such as IIII), and copy it.
What are the limits of Roman Numeral Converter?
Standard Roman numerals cover 1 to 3,999; overlines (a bar multiplies by 1,000) extend this to 3,999,999 but are not supported by every font. There is no Roman numeral for zero or negative numbers.
