How it works

The fitment factor multiplies today's basic pay (or pension) to give the revised figure. The 7th Pay Commission used 2.57. Figures like 1.92, 2.28 and 2.86 are guesses made in the press, so this tool shows them all next to each other.

The 8th Pay Commission was set up with 18 months to report. The fitment factor, DA treatment and effective date are not decided. Only 2.57 (7th CPC) is an official past figure.

Revised basic = ₹56,100 × 2.57 = ₹1,44,177.00, moved up to ₹1,44,200.
DA at start = ₹1,44,200 × assumed DA = ₹0.
HRA = the city rate × revised basic, never below the minimum = ₹34,608.

Pensioners: DR works like DA and is paid on the revised pension.
Arrears, if any, depend on the date of effect, which is not yet announced.

Revised basic = basic × fitment factor, moved up to the next ₹100 (7th CPC pay matrix cells are whole hundreds, so the exact cell may differ slightly). Pension is multiplied the same way, rounded up to the next rupee. HRA follows the Ministry of Finance O.M. of 7 July 2017 for the 7th CPC: 24/16/8% of basic for X/Y/Z cities when DA is up to 25%, 27/18/9% above 25% and 30/20/10% above 50%, with minimums of ₹5,400/3,600/1,800. The 7th CPC fitment factor 2.57 comes from the 7th CPC report and the 2016 Government resolution. Terms of reference of the 8th CPC were approved by the Union Cabinet in 2025; the effective date and rules are open. DA is assumed to restart from the value you enter; HRA tiers for the 8th CPC are assumed to follow the 7th CPC rules.
