How it works

RPM is the revenue you earn per 1,000 views, after YouTube takes its share. It is lower than the CPM advertisers pay because not every view shows an ad. This tool multiplies your views by a low and a high RPM to give a range.

These rates are assumptions
YouTube does not publish RPM by niche or country. Replace the example figures with your own RPM from YouTube Studio → Analytics → Revenue.

Long-form = views ÷ 1,000 × RPM × country factor = 1,00,000 ÷ 1,000 × 2–6 × 1 = $200 – $600.
Shorts = views ÷ 1,000 × Shorts RPM × country factor = $10.00 – $30.00.
Total per month = $210 – $630; per year = 12 × that = $2,520 – $7,560.

Use the RPM from your own analytics once you are monetised; it beats any average.
RPM changes by season; the last quarter of the year is usually higher.
Shorts earn far less per view than long videos.

Estimate = views ÷ 1,000 × RPM, with RPM defined as total revenue after YouTube's revenue share per 1,000 views (YouTube Help, "Understand ad revenue analytics", support.google.com/youtube/answer/9314357). Shorts earnings come from a Creator Pool of which creators keep 45% (YouTube Help, "YouTube Shorts monetization policies", support.google.com/youtube/answer/12504220), so Shorts RPM is typically a few cents. The niche examples and country multipliers are illustrative assumptions, not published YouTube figures.
